I found some of your postings on the internet so I thought maybe you have some info you could share.
I am Keith Crites. My father was Coy Lee Crites (1916-1998) He was born in Goree,TX, however his birth certificate says Munday,TX. Both are in Knox County. His father was William Lafayette Crites (Willie) who I think was born in Missouri around 1871. My father's siblings are all dead and my mother doesn't remember so I've been looking on the net.
I am trying to find the name of my great-grandfather and here is all I have. The story was passed down that Willie moved from Missouri to Texas as a kid (teenager?) with his parents and siblings. After arriving in Texas, his father had to make a trip back to Missouri to settle some business. When he returned to his family in Texas he was very sick and shortly died. Willie was the oldest son and he had to help raise the family. The story goes that either Willie's mother or grandmother was a Mayberry. Willie's mother may have been named Cynthia.
Well, that is all I have! The similarities to some of your stories led me contact you. Any help or direction will be appreciated.
