Alabama Advocate newspaper account of marriage of James Henry Heflin to Nancy
C.Heflin in Moulton, Lawrence Co., Alabama.Information was incorrectly
transcribed from paper as "J.B." Heflin instead of "J.H." I personally read
the original. It is "J.H." Other records on which Nancy and James Henry appear are the census of Oktibbeha Co. Mississippi for 1880. James is also found in LostChurch cemetery records of Oktibbeha Co. Mississippi. He is on census with his parents, Albert G. Heflin and Martha A. (McDonald) Heflin in 1870 in the town of Whitefield, Oktibbeha Co. Mississippi (Police Beat 4, p.401B,Line34, Family #281. In 1860 on page 130 of Okt. Co. In 1880 He and his wife are listed as "Henry Heffline" & "Chesteniar Heffline" with their 5 children. Ref.is ED 149,Sheet 42, Line 1.
`Taken from the Weekly Huntsville Advocate of 3 Feb 1871 , the newspaper
account is as follows:
"At the residence of the bride's father on the 24th inst. by Ebler J. L.
Lattimore, Mr. Jas H. Heflin, of Mississippi, to Miss N. C. Heflin, daughter
of J.M. Heflin, near Moulton."
I am sure the name 'Ebler' is another typo and should be Elder.
