a. Note:   Connecticut Nutmegger Vol 20, #3 page 431 has him born in 1638, married in 1665 to Hanna, daughter of John Plympton. On May 19, 1676 Nathaniel Sutliff Sr. fighting the Indians during King Philip's War at the Battle of Deerfield was killed and burned in the woods. Just one year later his father-in-law, John Plympton, was captured by the Indians, taken to near Chambley in Canada where John was burned at the stake on 19 May 1677. Nathaniel Sr. was the son of Abraham Sutcliffe, Jr. born about 1610.
