Note: My very first memories of Mom were when we lived on Harrison St. across from the High School. I remember coming running into the house one day and there was a woman I didn't know in the kitchen cooking. No one had told me she was going to the hospital. I believe for a hysterectomy. The woman was a friend of the Hardings and was helping out while she was gone.
Mom used to feed all the hobo's when we lived at this house. They had a way of marking a good house and ours was sure marked. Mom never just gave them food. She always had some little chore for them to do so it didn't look like a handout.
Mrs. Harding from across the street at Harrison and Mom got me interested in gardening before I even started school.
