a. Note:   John Alexander and wife left Mecklenberg Co., N.C., about 1832 and setteled at Big Creek, (now Cuba,Tennessee). He was a planter and land owner. Once when enroute to New Orleans he was either robbed and thrown overboard or drowned accidently as he never reached his destination or was ever heard of again.
