a. Note:   !Walter was not named in his father's will in 1733 even though he was 2 or 3 years old. However, Walter is named as the son of James and Elinor Greenfield in his grandmother Mary Smith's will Dtd. 1739 in Calvert CO., MD. After living in Prince George Co. for a while, Walter and his wife Rachel moved in 1759 to Frederick Co. north of Prince George's. He was on the 1758/1759 Tax rolls for Frederick Co. The southern part of the county where Walter lived became Montgomery County in 1766. IN the 1776 stste census, Walter Smith Greenfield was listed with three sons, a new wife named Keziah and two daughters.
