Note: Reverend Richard Truman was Chaplain of a Northampton Batallion in service to the King. This was during the Cromwellian period and Rev. Truman lost his position as Rector of his parish in Northampton city. Rev. Truman did not regain better and larger Vickarage until after this civil war. Both Richard and a cousin, Rev. Henry Truman, had received their MA degree from the College of Cambridge in 1621/22. Richard became Vicar of the Northampton churches and Henry left for a parish in Nottingham. At the death of his father, Richard took over their house and attached sadler shop. He left a will in 1638 plus an inventory signed by John Ball.
