Notes
a. Note:   N29 -per Lutheran Church in Klingenthal, Germany birth records born Carl Heinrich Louis Rauner -Louis Sr. was one of 12 children. He had 2 sisiters, one married a Glass (violin manufacturer???) and the other married Fred Bohm. -Louis Rauner Sr. received a mouth organ (harmonica) as a gift when he was a boy from his sister's husband, Fred Bohm (Bohn). The mouth organ had Fred Bohm name imprinted on it. -Family story by Sarah Swendsen is that Louis was abusive to his wife, that is why the children did not buy a headstone for Louis Sr. and there isn't one for Maria Hess Rauner either.
Marriage notice in paper said married by A. Angerer. I found a chaplain Augustus Angerer, in the Confederate South Carolina Infantry in the Civil War.
I think they were married in the German Evangelical Lutheran Church, now St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Hawley, PA. Cousin John Glass was an early member of this German Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Carl Warg, wife Jane (Johanna) (Meinel) Warg and Ernst Ferdinand Frank (flute maker) came to Pike and Wayne Co. also from Klingenthal, Saxony, Germany.
Louis Sr. came to the states with his 2nd cousin John Glass. I think they were heading to Hawley, PA because a Carl and Jane Warg were also from Klingenthal, Germany and settled in Hawley, PA. This Warg family was either traveling with Louis Sr from Germany, or had already settled in Hawley, before Louis Sr. left from Germany. Jane Warg was related to Louis Rauner thru 2 different relations. (See Jane (Meinel) Warg’s pg. for relationship.) Daughter Louisa Warg married Franz Hess, Maria’s brother. I think Maria came to the states before her brother, Franz. Her brother Franz left Einbach, Germany in 1854 but I think Maria left in 1852. Maria’s brother Johann Valentin Hess left Einbach in 1858, also settling in Hawley. Louis and Maria Rauner were living next to the Warg family in the 1860 census in Hawley.
