Continued: SPELLING: According to a note on the margin of his birth record, the spelling of the name was Polonized in 1952 from Glanz to Glanc. That would indicate that the individual moved to Zabrze when Silesia was still under the German rule before WWII. Otherwise they would have changed the spelling earlier.
